The second golf major of 2017 is officially underway as some of the top stars in the sport take on Erin Hills at the start of the 117th U.S. Open. It will be the first time that the national championship, which has been up for grabs annually since 1895, will be contested in the state of Wisconsin.
Erin Hills becomes the 51st course to host the U.S. Open but just the sixth public access course to receive the honor. And with more than 140,000 patrons expected to roll in and out of the stands from Thursday through Sunday, it should be a tremendous atmosphere for both the golfers in attendance and fans watching at home.
Whether Dustin Johnson repeats, Jordan Spieth finds his groove or a golfer like Rickie Fowler breaks through with the first major of his career, CBS Sports will be with you the entire way updating the latest scores, stats, highlights and happenings.
